We are all created for a special and unique purpose. 
 Holy Rosary’s Youth Confirmation program is a community  
for our young people to discover their ultimate purpose as disciples of  
Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church.

Confirmation date set for May 6th, 2025

Candidates and their sponsors should arrive at 5:30pm. The mass will start at 6:30pm. There will be an opportunity for pictures with the bishop and a reception with light refreshments after.

Class dates and times

Confirmation preparation will be in two parts: Living the Faith and Learning the Faith.

Our Living the Faith classes focus on worship, community, and our lives as Catholics. These will be taught on three Sunday evenings, Sep 29th 2024, Oct 20th 2024, and Mar 16th 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm. There will also be a full day Saturday retreat on March 29th 2025. All Confirmation candidates need to attend all Living the Faith classes and the Confirmation retreat.

Our Learning the Faith classes focus on the content and information that all confirmed Catholics should know. For 7th grade students in Holy Rosary School, these will be taught during the school day as part of the 7th grade religion class. For Faith Formation students and students not in 7th grade at Holy Rosary School, these will be taught on Sundays. The Sunday classes will start at 9:40 am (or immediately after the 8:30 am mass) and end at 11:00 am. All Confirmation candidates need to attend Learning the Faith classes, either in the school or on Sundays.

Confirmation Schedule

• Sunday, September 15th, 12:15 - 1:00pm. Kick-off meeting in the Church. Parents and candidates should attend together.
• Sunday, September 29th, 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Living the Faith class in the School Hall. All Confirmation candidates required.
• Sunday, October 20th, 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Living the Faith class in the School Hall. All Confirmation candidates required.
• Saturday - Sunday, October 27th, at all masses. Blessing for those receiving the sacraments. Candidates should plan to attend mass at Holy Rosary on this weekend. Candidates are welcome to attend mass at any Catholic church on other weekends.
• Sunday, March 16th, 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Living the Faith class in the School Hall. All Confirmation candidates required.
• Saturday, March 29th, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm ALL DAY. Confirmation Retreat! We will start and end in the School Hall.
• Sunday, May 4th, 12:00-1:30. Confirmation Rehearsal.
• Tuesday, May 6th, 5:30pm-9pm. The Rite of Confirmation. The mass will begin at 6:30. There will be opportunity for pictures with the bishop and a reception with light refreshments after.

All of the above dates are required for all youth confirmation candidates. Any schedule updates will be reflected on this webpage. If your child needs to miss one of these dates, please let Jessica know at [email protected]. 

Sunday Learning the Faith classes
These dates are required for all confirmation candidates who are not enrolled in Holy Rosary School's 7th grade class.

These classes will be taught from 9:40-11:00 am on Sundays in the Holy Rosary School Library. Classes will not start until the 8:30 am mass ends each Sunday. The classes will be held on the following 8 dates.

• September 22nd, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• October 6th, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• October 13th, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• October 27th, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• November 3rd, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• break
• March 23rd, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• April 6th, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library
• April 27th, 9:40-11:00 am, School Library

If your child needs to miss one of these dates, please let Jessica know at [email protected]. If your child is in 7th grade at Holy Rosary School, s/he does not need to attend these Sunday morning classes. The content will be covered during the school day. 
 

Payment

The payment for the program is $75. The program fee covers curriculum, supplies, day retreat and other expenses. Families can pay the program fee at https://osvhub.com/holyrosaryseattle/giving/funds/confirmation or by dropping a check off at the parish office marked "Youth Confirmation." Don't put it in the collection basket at mass! No young person should be deprived of the graces of the sacrament of Confirmation. All completed paperwork, forms, certificates should be emailed to [email protected] and [email protected]. If you are not able to email, drop off paperwork to Holy Rosary Parish Office addressed to "Youth Confirmation 2024."
