"Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good, so that we support one another." (Romans 15:2)
The goal of the Golden Network is to provide a ministry of presence even though we can’t be together in person. We are inviting parishioners to intentionally connect from within their homes.
Each of us should make an extra effort to connect with our friends and loved ones. But we also want to ensure that no one is forgotten and that we are proactively reaching out to meet that basic need of human connection. We are going to use parish census lists to simply call and talk to people, get to know them over the phone, offer to pray with them, and find out if they need any assistance as we are all precious members of the body of Christ and our Holy Rosary family. Texting and emailing are an important convenience, but hearing the voice of another or even seeing a friendly face is always more personal.
While participating in the Golden Network, individuals are NOT to fulfill someone’s request on their own. Because everyone’s health and safety are our first priority, all requests for assistance MUST be forwarded as directed. Requests will be processed separately, to ensure proper follow up as well, with those willing to undertake these particular tasks. If members of the Golden Network wish to assist as well, they can make that known.
If you are interested in being a part of the Golden Network, know someone who could benefit from it, or would like to help with any requests for assistance, please contact Libby or call 206-937-1488 ext. 209, or sign up for Shoulder to Shoulder at https://app.groopit.co/shoulder.
Jesus commanded us to love God above all else, and our neighbor before ourselves. During this challenging time, it is important to make special efforts to continue connecting with one another, to manifest God’s love to one another, even from afar.
