Every month, we'll propose a theme that all the households of our parish can live out together!
For Catholics living in the United States, January 3 is the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord. Elsewhere, Epiphany is celebrated on the traditional date of January 6. The Epiphany is one of the older feasts of the Catholic Church, and the main focal points are the coming of the three Magi to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph and the manifestation of Jesus to all people.
For the Month of January, Holy Rosary will journey together, with the Magi, in seeking Christ Our King and God. We encourage you to enter into contemplating the journey of the Magi from their home countries, to receiving the call to find the Messiah, to almost being tricked by Herod, and finally arriving to the true King of the world: an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes with the humble Mary and Joseph. Ponder in your heart the difference between Herod's authority and the authority of baby Jesus, the trust of the Magi to seek Messiah without knowing the destination, and the burdens and sufferings that come with leaving your homeland to respond to God's call.
