Care for creation is a joint ministry between Holy Rosary and Our Lady of Guadalupe focused on protecting the natural environment. This includes tips to reduce our carbon footprint, educational programs to encourage environmental protection, and prayerful contemplation on how we can protect all of God’s creation. Evening meetings are held the second Monday of each month, alternating between parishes.

The City of Seattle accepts expanded polystyrene (Styrofoam) blocks -- typically used as packing material -- for curbside pickup. The pickup is separate from your regular collections and is scheduled on your regular collection day, not just recycling days. Packing peanuts and overly large pieces are not allowed. Follow these instructions:
Create or login to your account on the Seattle Public Utilities web page -- https://myutilities.seattle.gov/eportal/#/ -- and select "Manage Utilities" at the top of the page to get a drop-down menu. Near the bottom of the third column, select "Special Item Pick-Up."
If you are unfamiliar with the process, review the detailed instructions on how to recycle Styrofoam. Above the list of items, select "View Special Item Restrictions." The instructions for Styrofoam Blocks or Forms are near the bottom. Close the window when you are done reading the instructions.
On the Special Item Pick-Up page, select "Styrofoam Blocks" (note the cost is listed as $0.00). Click the down arrow to choose how many bags of
Styrofoam blocks you intend to put out (maximum of two white or clear bags, maximum capacity 32 gallons each). Fill in blanks providing location and other information and then select "Submit." On collection day, put your items in the location you indicated, and SPU will do the rest.
