We are thrilled to announce that the results of last month's All Hands Meeting was incredible. For those of you who were there, thank you. The synergy and the enthusiasm, as well as the great ideas from that night, were truly incredible and inspirational.
For those of you not in attendance, about 80 parishioners worked together, in small groups, on core issues and areas of ministry for the purpose of making Holy Rosary Parish a stronger and more connected faith community. In the coming weeks and months we will be building on those ideas, and sharing the progress along the way.
Fr. John has recently posed the question, "If we began Holy Rosary Parish from scratch today, how would we want it to look?"
We love this question, as well as it being the impetus for the All Hands Meeting. In order to create an environment to do just that (create our parish as we want to see it) the Pastoral Council has devised what they are calling Re-Envisioning Our Future which consists of the creation of 6 temporary committees that will delve into the following areas:
We invite all of you to review these committees and see if any of them interest you. Our intention is to create action plans for the 10-11 interest items that came up in each respective group during the All Hands meeting. Each temporary committee's goal is to pair these 10-11 items down to 5 things to which we can create actionable tasks that actually get completed and implemented within this next year.
You will find each temporary committee and the Pastoral Council member liaison contact information associated with each. Please reach out to the respective member of the group that interests you. We will all be meeting in these respective groups within the next few months to form a solid plan, and present the information we come up with to Father and the Council in our first Fall session in September, at which point, many of the ideas will then be fully implemented. This is an entire parish effort, so, please, if you feel called, we would very much love to have you.
These committees are intended to be fun as well as productive, and implemented with a social tone so we can experience new faces and new spirits, while being productive in creating exciting new experiences for the parish. We will meet in people's homes, at local West Seattle establishments, in parks… wherever each small group chooses.
If you are interested in knowing more, please feel free to reach out to the Pastoral Council member in charge of the group that speaks to you and with whom you would like to be involved.
The Pastoral Council is very excited about this process, and so very grateful for the incredible enthusiasm so many of you have for this initiative.
