Good morning all,
I am writing this message to share with you about a special gift that we were given last night at the women's shelter from one of the ladies. As a Christmas gift to our parish and a thank you for all the parish has done, she created a beautiful needlepoint tapestry (see the picture below). She is a frequent guest at the shelter but did not want her name passed on with the gift. The thoughtfulness, hours of work, and beauty of the gift is amazing! The saying inside is also a touching reminder for our community.
She wanted to surprise the parish and taped it up in the entry of the parish center on the marble wall as you enter the main door. Unfortunately the scotch tape she had did not hold it up for very long so Lesli, my daughter, gave the tapestry to Peace this morning as we wanted to be sure it was safe until it could be framed or mounted on a rod so it could be appropriately displayed.
I think it would be wonderful if we could honor the intent of her gift by displaying it somewhere in the parish center. If you need any assistance getting it ready to be displayed, like helping get it framed or mounted, we would be delighted to help in any way we can.
Please let us know.
Diane and Lesli
