Each month during the Year of Mercy we will highlight one or two of the Corporal or Spiritual Works of Mercy. We receive so many blessings from the Lord, the outpouring of His mercy and love. We share that mercy and love with others in corporal, or material ways, as well as in spiritual ways. While the term ignorant might be used often in a pejorative way, the truth is that we are all ignorant—we all lack knowledge. Each and every day, hundreds of millions of people around the world head to school. They go in search of knowledge. Hopefully that is true of us all—for it is imperative that we seek to come to know and more fully understand the Truth. This is a gift that we can all give to each other, in particular knowledge of the things of Heaven. To do so is merciful because we are helping others come to know and understand the Light of Truth which will help them to follow Jesus more closely. When we instruct the ignorant, we extend our love to others in a tangible way. But it is also much more. These are our brothers and sisters—and Jesus Christ invites us to share with them from the mercies that we have received..
