The Holy Rosary Pastoral Council is the chief advisory body for the Pastor and helps the Pastor set the direction and goals of the parish community. The council is a consultative body that the Pastor can prayerfully reflect with and ask for assistance to guide the overall care and ministry of the Parish and the enhancement of its mission. The council's purpose is: · To form community so that it is a sign and witness of unity for the larger community · To provide recommendations about the priorities and direction of the parish through pastoral planning · To promote communication and understanding among parish organizations and between the parish and the archdiocese and universal Church
The establishment of the Council is required in every parish within the Archdiocese of Seattle. Members of the council are elected by the Pastor and a selection committee, and are chosen to represent the needs and values of their constituency, ministry or the parish ‘at-large.

The Administration Commission (AdCom) oversees the maintenance needs and capital improvements to Holy Rosary’s church and school campus, including the care and upkeep of buildings, walkways, grounds, and related infrastructures. AdCom members review and prioritize projects, seek outside consultants for estimates and services when necessary, and initiate/monitor work progress. Projects range from tracking regular/annual in-house maintenance items to long-term, larger-scale upgrades and renovations.
AdCom is a group of 10-12 parishioners with diverse backgrounds and professions. We meet once per month to discuss status of projects and project budgets with the Parish Administrator. Additional time commitments of approximately 2-4 hours per month for research of project information and/or securing construction contacts and cost estimates may occur. If interested in joining this fun group, contact Tim Jergens or Mary Simpson, Parish Administrator (msimpson@holyrosaryseattle.org).

The mission of Adult Faith Formation is to develop rewarding programs and catechesis that enrich the spiritual lives of adult members of the parish. The group is guided by “Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us,” a pastoral plan for Adult Faith Formation, issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in 1999.
We’re interested in a diverse group of parish members, representing all age groups. We are looking for those who have a passion for exploring new ways of presenting adult religious education in the Catholic tradition and would work well in a team environment. If you are interested in becoming a member or lead of this team, please contact the parish office.
Baptism Team for Infants & Young Children JoAnn Tobin, ext. 203, jtobin@holyrosaryseattle.org
Holy Rosary offers preparation sessions for those parents wishing to have their infants/young children under the age of seven baptized in the Catholic faith. Members of the Baptism Team help facilitate the preparation sessions offered for parents. In addition, members of the team greet and assist parents at the Sunday liturgy in which the child is baptized. Any adult of the parish who feels drawn to working with new parents in this sacramental ministry, either as a facilitator for the sessions or a greeter at Sunday liturgies, or both, is encouraged to contact JoAnn.

During the 9:30am Sunday Mass (September through May), elementary school age children are dismissed after the opening prayer to celebrate their own Liturgy of the Word appropriate for their age level and return to the Mass following the Homily. Children are divided into three groups according to their school grade and each group is assigned a leader: · Group 1- Kindergarten & 1st Grade · Group 2- 2nd & 3rd Grade · Group 3- 4th & 5th Grade
No liturgical experience or training is necessary, only a commitment to serve as a CLOW leader or assistant at the 9:30 Mass once or twice a month. The format for CLOW is in place and leaders and assistants use prepared material for each Sunday’s readings and guided discussion. Please consider becoming a CLOW leader or assistant (especially if your child attends CLOW) as this program cannot continue without volunteers -or in other words, while the harvest is truly great, the laborers are few.

Every two years Holy Rosary offers a series of sessions to prepare adults who have not yet been confirmed for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The sessions focus on the Rite of Confirmation itself while also connecting Confirmation to the other two sacraments of initiation: Baptism and Eucharist. Holy Rosary staff and parish volunteers facilitate the sessions. The ministerial requirements are a desire to work with adults in their sacramental formation as well as good listening skills and small group facilitation skills.
Confirmation candidates also need sponsors, i.e. other adult Catholics who are willing to companion the Confirmation candidate during the process of preparation. Good listening skills, an ability to be present to the candidate and a willingness to share faith are plusses for Confirmation sponsors.
Patrick Barredo pbarredo@holyrosaryseattle.org
Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, Catholics are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. They become true witnesses of Christ, spreading his message by the way in which they live their lives.
Anyone who is a junior or senior in high school and baptized may be confirmed. There is a year-long formation process that culminates with the Mass of Confirmation, celebrated with the Archbishop or one of our Auxiliary Bishops, during the Easter season. Contact Patrick if you would like to be confirmed, or if you would like to be a part of the Confirmation team.

Holy Rosary Parish offers faith formation classes for preschool 3’s and 4’s of the parish Sunday mornings during the 9:30am Mass from October to May. Adult/high school volunteers of the parish teach the sessions. The skills needed for this ministry are a desire for and love of working with young children 3 and 4 years of age in the area of faith formation. A user-friendly program is in place, along with a variety of other materials.
JoAnn Tobin, ext. 203 jtobin@holyrosaryseattle.org
Holy Rosary offers faith formation sessions on Sunday mornings for kindergarten through grade 6 children who do not attend a Catholic School. The sessions are offered from late September through May with adult volunteers from the parish teaching these classes. A desire to work with young children in passing on the faith is a definite requirement in this ministry. Share the Joy is the current program in place and very user-friendly for the teachers. Our Sunday faith formation program is also in need of administrative, behind-the scenes work, i.e. helping to prepare for parent meetings, working in the office on Sunday mornings while classes are in session. For further information or to volunteer, please contact JoAnn.
First Communion/First Reconciliation JoAnn Tobin, ext 203 jtobin@holyrosaryseattle.org
Each year Holy Rosary prepares a group of young parishioners for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. The actual preparation sessions are facilitated by parish staff but administrative and hospitality ministry is also required in order to have a welcoming and successful ministry. Hospitality help is needed in planning receptions and parent meetings. Please contact JoAnn for further information.

The Parish Library is open between Masses on the first Sunday of each month throughout the school year. The library stocks several hundred books by well-known authors on a wide variety of religious subjects, as well as music and videos. All resources may also be checked out on weekdays during regular parish office hours.

The Rite of Christian Initiation is the process the Church has in place for initiating new members, seven years of age and older, into the Catholic Church. Holy Rosary offers year round preparation sessions in which children and adults are either prepared for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist or for a Profession of Faith, Confirmation and Eucharist, if the candidate is already one with us in Baptism.
A variety of ministries are needed in Christian Initiation: facilitators for the preparation sessions, dismissal catechists for Sunday liturgies, hospitality ministers and sponsors for the catechumens and candidates. Christian initiation ministers need good listening skills, a desire to work with children or adults preparing to come into the church and a willingness to learn themselves. Ministers are needed for both adults and children. The qualities of a sponsor are a desire to companion a prospective member of the church, good listening skills, ability to share faith and to be present to the candidate in their journey.

At various times during the year Holy Rosary offers a series of sessions to help the returning Catholic return to the sacraments and regular church attendance. Sessions on the Mass, liturgy and the Eucharist, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, prayer and Scripture are among the topics covered plus an opportunity for participants to share their stories. Holy Rosary staff and volunteers from the parish facilitate the sessions. The ministerial needs for the Returning Catholics team are good listening skills, a non-judgmental attitude and a comfort level in facilitating small groups.

Holy Rosary’s youth ministry program serves the Church by leading teens closer to Christ by encouraging vibrant Eucharistic celebrations and opportunities for teens to grow in their faith. Youth ministry should empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today, draw them to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic Church, and foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each youth. If you would like to become involved in the youth program, whether you are a teen, or as a volunteer, please contact Patrick.

We at Holy Rosary Parish are blessed to be able to take part in wonderful liturgical celebrations here every Sunday. Our fellow parishioners who minister at the Sunday liturgies come prepared, and perform their responsibilities with understanding and enthusiasm in the service of the entire assembly. We meet Christ as we listen to the Word proclaimed with care, attend to the well-prepared homilies, sing in the company of fine musicians, embrace those around us, and receive the Eucharist as one body.
Our parish has a Liturgy Commission which meets once a month. All who come to the meetings leave with a fuller understanding of Catholic liturgical celebration, and a deeper appreciation for the liturgies that take place in our own community. The meetings are always fun and informal. Of all the many wonderful activities that take place at Holy Rosary, our liturgies are the most important and we can all become more involved. Everyone is welcome.

Altar Servers actively participate in the Mass by helping during the liturgy. They are responsible for assisting the priests and Eucharistic ministers when they are at the altar. As Pope John Paul II proclaims: “Commitment to the altar is not only a duty but a great honor, a true holy service.” Our youngest altar servers are in the 5th grade, but we also have quite a few who are adults! Daily Mass is another area of opportunity. We do a group training once a year and offer special trainings as needed.

This special ministry gives you the opportunity to share the Body and the Blood of Christ with their fellow parishioners. With prayerful reflection before the Mass, this special one-on-one ministry lets you greet each person and share the Body and Blood of Christ. It is an exchange of faith. This ministry is wonderful because God’s presence is truly alive! It also allows people to participate more fully in the Mass, and it does not involve extra time outside of Mass. Anyone who is a confirmed Catholic may become a Eucharistic minister. It involves a one hour initial training session. Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled approximately one weekend Mass each month. Schedules are done on a quarterly basis and we do our best to accommodate special requests. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact Diane.

Greeters carry the responsibility for creating a welcoming atmosphere at the entrances of the church. Offering a smile and a word of welcome can have a profound impact on people as they arrive, especially if they are visitors to Holy Rosary. Our worship will only be truly hospitable when everyone who gathers for liturgy reaches out to those around them with the love of Christ. If you are a people person please consider becoming a greeter. Greeters are present for one Mass each weekend. The greeters invite everyone who gathers for Mass to enter the church with the joy of the Lord. Sometimes, they are asked to help with other special ceremonies at Mass that involve great celebrations! Please contact Patrick if you would like to celebrate this special ministry of welcoming!
Patrick Barredo pbarredo@holyrosaryseattle.org
In the absence of a priest, there may still be a celebration of the Eucharist, led by lay persons. Faithful Catholic men and women may become lay presiders to lead communion services. These services are composed of the Liturgy of the Word, during which time the lay presider leads the assembly in a reflection of the Scriptures, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist, celebrated with hosts consecrated at previous Masses.
The ministry of lay presider requires special training. You will learn to give Scripture reflections after the Gospel is proclaimed. You will also learn how to lead the celebration of Communion. If you feel called to lead prayer once a month, please contact Patrick.

Lectors are responsible for proclaiming the Word of God during liturgies. Lectors know that when they read from the lectionary (the book containing the Scriptures) they are reading God’s Word given to all faithful people. In preparing to read at mass, lectors have taken the time to hear anew old words, to let the images of Scripture reflect and mingle with their lives. They know how to communicate their passion for God’s Word with the people in the assembly of the church. Lectors minister the Word of God approximately once a month. There are training sessions to learn how to not just read, but to proclaim, the Scriptures, so that life may truly be given to God’s Word. After the training, there are 3 auditions, so that lectors may learn how to read well at mass. Feedback is given after each audition. After the auditions, the hopeful lector may then be invited to commit her- or himself to the ministry. If interested, please contact Bette.

Throughout the history of the Church, a dynamic tension has existed between the continuity of traditional artistic expression and the need to articulate the faith in ways proper to each age and to diverse cultures. The place where God's people gather prompts them to recognize the divine image in which they have been created and restored in Christ. The tradition of decorating the church for liturgical seasons and feasts heightens the awareness of the festive, solemn, or penitential nature of these seasons. Human minds and hearts are stimulated by the sounds, sights, and fragrances of liturgical seasons, which combine to create powerful, lasting impressions of the rich and abundant graces unique to each of the seasons. We need help from people with imaginative ideas, or who would like to spend time adorning the church with decorations. If you are interested in helping to decorate our church during the course of the year - from Advent through Christmas, to Lent into Easter, contact Megan.
9:30am Sunday Choir & Ensemble; 5pm Saturday Vigilites Paul Dolejsi, 935-8353
Our large ensemble & choir leads the singing at the 9:30am Sunday morning mass, and the ‘Vigilites’ lead the music at the 5:00pm Saturday Vigil Mass. All of our music ministers strive to lead and support the voice of the assembly. Our choir includes a number of excellent cantors and our ensembles feature piano, guitar, bass guitar, pedal steel, flute, drums, and percussion. There are many opportunities for singers and instrumentalists at all of our parish masses. A prayerful attitude, a joyful heart and a willingness to serve are all you need to participate in music ministry. As Elaine Rendler, a prominent Catholic musician has stated so well: “Our mission in music ministry is to serve the people of God through the gift of music and thus to further the mission of Christ in the world.” Music Ministry at Holy Rosary is a great way for you to share your musical gifts with your parish community!
Bob Ingalls bingalls@holyrosaryseattle.org
The 11:15am choir is a group of singers from the parish that specialize in four-part choral literature spanning five centuries, from the Renaissance to the present day. This Holy Rosary Church choir is considered to be one of the finest Catholic Church choirs in all of western Washington. Currently with twenty-three members, the choir provides a positive, friendly environment for creating liturgical music. Members of the traditional choir are ministers in every sense of the term. Our mission is to support the voice of the assembly at Mass and to provide music to reinforce the messages contained in the readings and the Gospel. We rehearse from 7:15 -9:00pm on Tuesday evenings in the loft of the church. On Sunday mornings we meet at 10:15am in the Parish Center to prepare for singing at the 11:15am Mass.
Paul Dolejsi, 935-8353
The Holy Rosary Children’s Choir is comprised of 20-30 grade school
students of Holy Rosary and other neighborhood schools. Their most
common trait is that they love to sing! The choir sings at Mass to lead
and support the singing of the assembly, the same as our adult choirs.
In doing so, our children are learning to become music ministers—our
future leaders of song and prayer! They also learn that their talents
are gifts from God to be given back in service to the parish community.
We practice on Tuesday afternoons in the church from 3-4pm (cantors
also practice from 4-4:30). We sing for Sunday Mass about once a month,
including Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday. The Children’s Choir is a
great way for your child to learn how to be a music minister and to be
actively involved at mass!
Paul Dolejsi, 935-8353
Our parish teens provide music ministry for the First Saturday Youth Mass at Holy Rosary. The Teen Music Group is a contemporary music ensemble with piano, guitar, drums, bass guitar and flute. Our junior and senior high teens lead the singing, minister as cantors and even play some of the instruments. Our music comes from the best contemporary composers, with familiar Catholic songs to make all feel welcome. The Teen Mass is on the First Saturday of each month, October through June at 5pm. Music practice is Thursday after school from 3-4pm and prior to the First Saturday mass from 4-4:30. Teens and the young-at-heart who like Spirit-filled music are invited to participate. Come and be a part of this exciting new music ministry!

If the Eucharistic Liturgy on weekends can be compared to a divine drama, then the “stage” must be set up with the necessary “props” to signify the Divine Action that is being performed with the People of God. That is the simple, yet rewarding, ministry of the Sacristan. Bread and wine for the Eucharistic Meal, bowls and cups to contain them; books marked for the proper readings and prayers – all must be readied. Lights, microphones, and the heating system must be adjusted. At the end of one Mass, the “stage” needs to be reset for the next mass. Properly done, the sacristan is transparent to the Assembly. Yet the ministry demands knowledge of liturgy and dedication to arrive on time to do the duties of this ministry completely.

The Usher Ministry helps facilitate each and every Mass. We are responsible for the collection. We involve parishioners in bringing the Gifts during the Offertory. We ensure that the celebration of the Eucharist is a smooth one whether it is to help distribute and collect hearing aids, to distribute bulletins after Mass, or to help seat parishioners. The Usher Ministry is open to all those who are willing. We seek individuals who aspire to a sense of duty and a deep sense of responsibility. At Holy Rosary we have many ushers who have been dedicated to this ministry for many years. We have literally become fixtures in the celebration. It is a testament to the fulfillment that this ministry gives to us. Perhaps, it may to you too!

Holy Rosary School parents support the school primarily through the Parents’ Club. Throughout the school year, the Parents’ Club Meets approximately once per month to discuss various programs which support the school in a variety of ways including fundraising efforts which help make a Catholic tuition affordable to all. Each final week of November for the past 20 years, just as we’re putting away the last bits of turkey, we magically become the Treelot Elves to spread a little bit of Christmas tree joy to the people of West Seattle! Right at the corner of California and Lander, we transform the Admiral Safeway parking lot into a festival of lights, of fresh-cut Christmas trees, of garlands and wreaths, and of the fresh pine smell that evokes memories of happy Christmases past.
We are the Tree Elves, a band of dedicated volunteers, of parents, grandparents, students, friends, and neighbors of Holy Rosary School. A few weeks in every year, we become Santa’s Christmas tree helpers. We are fun-loving creatures who work hard to bring you the best trees to make your Holidays more special! Santa has given us the charge of bringing cheer throughout the West Seattle neighborhood. So, fifteen percent of the proceeds of our Sale goes to local area charities. It’s just a little way for us to help out who are less fortunate. As the Head Elf himself said, “No one gets left behind!”

The goal of the auction is to raise funds to do what H.E.A.R.T. stands for: Helping Education and Religious Training. The auction normally takes place in the spring and is a highly anticipated event. Contact us if you're interested in working with an enthusiastic group of people.
The Holy Rosary Social Justice Committee works to integrate Catholic Social Teaching into the parish expression of God’s love. Family Promise is a social service agency that helps newly homeless children and their families by getting them off the streets and into a stable, supportive environment that moves them toward self-sufficiency. Holy Rosary is a part of Family Promise’s network of congregations and volunteers that provides community, temporary housing and food. Our guests are families with children who are referred to us by established social service agencies. We can help a maximum of 14 people at a time. All guests are interviewed and screened by a Director; they sign guideline agreements, various releases and health forms, and develop a personal plan of action. Persons with serious psychiatric, medical, legal or substance abuse problems will not be accepted into the program and will be referred to other agencies. We do not ask our guests to worship and do not attempt to convert them to any religion.
When it is Holy Rosary’s week to offer temporary shelter, we house our guests in the Parish Center. All of our trained volunteers can provide all meals (continental breakfast, bag lunches, and warm dinner), spend time in the early evenings with the families, and stay overnight. During daytime hours the families will be transported to the Day Center site where staff will work with guests to find suitable living arrangements and explore job opportunities.

Holy Rosary’s Green Team is made up of parents/parishioners, a teacher representative, a representative from the Parish staff, and students who all share a passion for caring for God’s creation, the Earth. The Green Team hopes to reduce the impact/carbon footprint of our community. The Green Team produces weekly green tips for the school’s Family Communication Envelope and the Parish Bulletin, initiates projects such as food waste composting, installing No Idle signs, Earth Day activities and Bike to School Month.
We follow the Catholic Social Teaching of Caring for God’s Creation. “We show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation. Care for the earth is not just an Earth Day slogan, it is a requirement of our faith. We are called to protect people and the planet, living our faith in relationship with all of God’s creation. The purpose of the International Missions Board is to provide short term exposure experiences for our parishioners and others in Third World and developing countries; to mutually exchange our gifts, talents and faith in Jesus Christ with the people we encounter; and to identify areas of need that we might provide resources. Our trips are about three weeks in duration. Since 1998 we have sponsored trips to Jamaica, Kenya, Uganda, and the Philippines. The school, parish and outside donors have helped to build schools, churches, medical clinics, water projects, medical equipment, computers, school supplies, school fees and more.

The Orion Center is a multi-service facility for homeless youth ages 12-21 with limited services for youth ages 22- 24. It provides immediate and developmental services such as case management, health education, the Orion School (an on-site Seattle Public School), food and clothing banks, and adventure-based therapy. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm. Hundreds of volunteers continue Orion Center's collaborative spirit by lending their time and expertise to help this vulnerable population grow up. More than 350 volunteers from churches, homes, and organizations provide hot, home-cooked dinners for youth at the Orion Center five nights a week.
There are two groups of Holy Rosary parishioners who share the responsibility of providing dinner for the youth. Each group purchases groceries, cooks and prepares the food, and then brings the meal downtown for the teens. On even numbered months Bill Lenth’s group provides a meal on the first two Thursdays of the month. Grace Fosado's group prepares a meal on the second Thursday of odd numbered months. If you are interested in finding out more about feeding homeless teenagers, contact Bill, Grace or the Parish Office.

Twice a month volunteers prepare gallons of homemade soup for the Lazarus Day Center. There are many ways that parishioners can participate: prepare broth or base in your own home, join the “soupers” in the kitchen on soup days, or pick up and deliver insulated soup containers to and from the shelter on soup days. For further information please contact Bill.

The ministry is currently comprised of parishioners from age 9 to 60. If you would like to volunteer for this special community ministry please contact Susan.

Our shelter is open each Sat. and Sun. night with two trained volunteers (women or couples) staying with our guests. Volunteer drivers (male or female) transport the guests from Noel House (where they are screened) in the evening and return them in the morning. Hospitality volunteers also provide a healthy “snack” in the evening. To make this ministry work we need lots of volunteers (we train!). Please consider helping house those who have no homes!

The Stewardship Commission is involved in the ongoing process of connecting our Parish’s past with our present as we head into the future. We do this by welcoming new parishioners and developing programs, such as The Living Your Strengths program, to make our Parish a more welcoming community to all. By discovering our signature themes and talents, our Stewardship of Time and Talent will become much more specific and objective as a result of gift- based giving. Parish attendance and the sharing of Treasure will also increase as gratitude and generosity are more evident.
Time, Talent and Treasure opportunities abound: there is something for everyone! We are a diverse group of members with plenty of enthusiasm. If you have a great idea for a new activity or ministry for the Parish, send us your idea, or better still, join our group.

Friday mornings in the parish office dining room, a group of faithful parishioners get together to attach the various inserts in the Holy Rosary weekly bulletin. These volunteers spend about two hours each Friday for the preparation of the bulletin. It is not all work—it’s also a time to visit, share a cup of coffee, and to share some laughs. Volunteers are always needed, so if you are available please contact the Parish Office.

After all Masses on most Sundays, a Coffee and Donuts hour is offered in the School Hall. This gives parishioners an opportunity to get to know each other. By having various other ministries from our parish “host” this event, Coffee & Donuts also provides an opportunity for parishioners to get to know a little bit about different activities going on at Holy Rosary. If you’re interested in helping out with this ministry, please contact Maureen.

CYO's mission is to develop well rounded youth with positive self- esteem and real care for others. What we are about is to help parents raise well-adjusted, morally strong, faith filled children and at the same time to have fun with athletics and athletic development. CYO is open to all parishioners and students. Holy Rosary offers soccer, cross country, volleyball, basketball, track and baseball. A CYO board administers the sports programs. Please contact Chris Teppner, CYO board chairman/athletic director, for further information.

The Family Life Corner is located in the narthex of the church, at the Genesee Street entrance. It is a table stocked with crayons, pencils and coloring activities to keep young parishioners busy at Mass so that their parents can be full participants in the liturgy. These materials are faith-based, so even if the youngsters aren’t able to follow what’s happening during Mass, they still are thinking about God and our faith. We hope to build a little library of gently-used religious books for the youngsters to look through as part of this Corner – if you have any books or materials (crayons, coloring books, etc.) you’d like to donate, please contact Danette.

A rewarding and meaningful ministry in which volunteers help set up, serve and clean up for receptions following funerals. We try to keep a fairly large list of volunteers so that no one is called on too often. If interested, contact Maureen Blake.

We are always in need of help with our many parish mailings. Keeping parishioners up-to-date with the goings-on here at Holy Rosary is very important. In addition to quarterly statements, we often send our parishioners helpful materials to help them prepare for the different seasons, such as The Little Blue Book for Advent, The Little Black Book for Lent, and The Little White Book for Easter. Help is needed in the office (treats provided) or some volunteers prefer to take a batch home and work on them there. This is a great opportunity for school parent commitment hours or for Junior High Students to earn their service hours! Contact Anne or Melissa if you would like to join this team.

During the Sunday 9:30am Mass, Family Life runs a nursery for small children (ages 9 months to 4 years) in the Gym. This allows parents the opportunity to attend and be full participants in Mass without being distracted by the needs of their little ones. The children have fun playing with toys and making new friends. There are generally two to three volunteers staffing the nursery, and a donation of $1.50 per child or $3.00 per family is suggested to help defray costs. If you have any questions about the nursery or are interested in volunteering your time, please contact Heather or Kamila.

This is a call for all men, regardless of where you are on the spiritual Richter scale, to come for a new beginning, or a booster shot, or a new perspective. How can you better understand the unique being that you are, your relationship to the One who created you, and what do you need to relate well to others in your life? There are all kinds of groups and organizations to provide for your physical, economic and sporting needs, but what about your spiritual needs? If the needs of your spirit are not met all else will be empty and unfulfilled. Any man reading this is invited to be in the vanguard of something that can make a difference in your life, the life of your family and the life of Holy Rosary. Take this step and experience the difference as God will not be outdone. The Men’s Group meets most every Saturday morning from 7-8am in the School Hall. All men are invited! Just show up!

WestFest is fun! Imagine a sunny Fall weekend in September that brings together family and friends from Holy Rosary Parish, an event put on by the school and the Parish that’s safe and tons of fun for all ages. You’ll find rides, kids games, an entertainment stage, specialty food booths, BINGO, a used book sale, a raffle, an arts & crafts fair, and much more right here in the Holy Rosary School grounds. WestFest is community! Now on its 20th year, WestFest has become our community’s Fall Family Festival. In it, we celebrate the culmination of a summer well spent as well as the beginning of an exciting new school year! Best of all, WestFest is community. It is a Festival run purely by volunteers from our Parish. It embodies everything that our community is all about. We show our children what can be accomplished by working together. Without the sheer dedication and hard work of parishioners, parents, children, friends and family, there can be no WestFest! WestFest is tradition! As a West Seattle tradition, WestFest can’t happen without involved parents, teachers, and parishioners! Please consider helping by working a shift or two—it’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet neighbors and friends. This year’s WestFest Chairs, Meg Peterson and Erin Podany will work with you to find just the right volunteer opportunity. Above all, we hope you’ll spend time at WestFest this Fall—you won’t want to miss it!

The Women’s Spirituality Group is a community of women of all ages who come together on Wednesday evenings,7-8:30 pm, to pray, share faith and build fellowship. We select reading materials designed to explore and expand our spiritual growth. Anyone thirsting for a fuller and more intimate understanding of one’s spirituality and relationship with Jesus is welcome to attend. The group does not focus on religious education or bible study, but rather on one’s spiritual journey.
